Toasting to the New Year with snow & Icewine

It’s New Years Eve in Canada, there is snow on the ground and the fireplace is burning. It's a very different experience to what I am used to in Australia - with the sun, sand, and fireworks over Sydney Harbour - but I've already started toasting to the New Year in my winter wonderland. 2012 Mudgee Food & Wine Festival at Balmoral Beach, Sydney

Every August for the past 22 years, winemakers and food producers from the Mudgee region in New South Wales head to the big smoke to showcase their wares, at the annual Mudgee Food & Wine Festival.

I first enjoyed Huntington Estate’s new release 2007 Special Reserve Shiraz and then indulged in some chocolate covered strawberries. For something a little different, I also tried the Pipeclay White Port from Pieter van Gent.
